The Katra Box
I was commissioned by the Katra Box to design their Spring 2020 subscription box. The design on the top of the box portrays 5 figures, each with different skin tones, hair textures and body types, speaking to the inclusive mission statement of The Katra Box. The design for this box was influenced by Indian miniature paintings and uses vibrant colors and themes attributed to the spring season.
The Katra Box is a seasonal beauty and wellness subscription box company curated for the South Asian woman. In their own words, "Our seasonal subscription box is carefully curated with the hybrid identity of the South Asian American woman in mind. We know women in the South Asian diaspora all over the world are on-the-go and creating big waves in many diverse industries. So, we'd like to take some of the hard work out of their hands." Shahana Hanif
Shahana Hanif is a Bangladeshi-American Muslim woman running to represent District 39 in the New York City Council.
Shahana was diagnosed with lupus at the age of 17. This piece, titled "cyborg" is a celebration of the one year anniversary of Shahana's shoulder replacement and her perseverance, strength, and courage.
In her very own words, "It is the first time I have ever seen a cyborg Bangladeshi Muslim woman in art form... and it's me! When I was diagnosed with lupus at 17, I recalled reading or knowing no children's books or other stories with a disabled, bionic femme protagonist. This representation is important."

Deshall
This artwork portrays a desi woman holding a mirror up to her face, highlighting the importance of representation of South Asian women in beauty and wellness.
This artwork was a commissioned piece for Deshall, a South Asian skincare, and beauty marketplace based in London. In their own words "Deshall is your trusted online source of South Asian beauty brands. These are high-quality brands that have, until now, gone fairly unnoticed in the global market. Deshall will offer exclusive authentic South Asian brands, based on the South Asian traditions of beauty and wellness, natural and herbal, a true way of life for a South Asian."

Nari, SJU
This piece, titled "Nari", the Bengali word for women, is an embodiment of intergenerational relationships among women in South Asian culture. It portrays three different women of three different generations, experiences and values, connected through touch as an acknowledgment of their differences but also as a sign of solidarity.
